چکیده

Seminal vesiculitis is the common disease of male urogenital system. However, the pathogenesis of seminal vesiculitis remains unclear. Semenogelin I (Sg I) is mainly synthesized and secreted by seminal vesicle and has antibacterial activity. We thus postulate that Sg I plays an important role during the and development of seminal vesiculitis. In the present study, we analyzed the expression of Sg I in normal seminal vesicle tissues and seminal vesiculitis tissues through immunohistochemistry. The results showed down-regulated expression of cluster in at protein level in seminal vesiculitis tissues compared with normal seminal vesicle tissues. Our preliminary data suggest that the abnormal expression of cluster in is closely related to seminal vesiculitis. Down regulation of Sg I expression may weaken the antibacterial activity of the seminal vesicle and then induce the occurrence of disease. This is the first study to focus on the relationship between Sg I and human seminal vesiculitis.

Co-incubation of human spermatozoa with anti-VDAC antibody reduced sperm motility.

BACKGROUND Voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC), a channel protein, exists in the outer mitochondrial membrane of somatic cells and is involved in multiple physiological and pathophysiological processes. Up until now, little has been known about VDAC in male germ cells. In the present study, the relationship between VDAC and human sperm motility was explored. METHODS Highly motile human spe...

AB219. The use of anti-VDAC2 antibody for the combined assessment of human sperm acrosome integrity and ionophore A23187-induced acrosome reaction

Voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC) is mainly located in the mitochondrial outer membrane and participates in many biological processes. In mammals, three VDAC subtypes (VDAC1, 2 and 3) have been identified. Although VDAC has been extensively studied in various tissues and cells, there is little knowledge about the distribution and function of VDAC in male mammalian reproductive system. Seve...

Background: Epididymal sperm has been recovered with the aim of conserving potentially valuable genetics Materialss from post mortem males for subsequent usage in assisted reproduction technologies. Among the quality parameters of spermatozoa, motility and velocity patterns are sensitive for chemical and physical components of medium which they were diluted. Also close correlation between sperm...

The expression and significance of CATSPER1 in human testis and ejaculated spermatozoa.

AIM To investigate the distribution of cation channel of sperm 1 (CATSPER1) protein and the presence of CATSPER1 mRNA in human testis and ejaculated spermatozoa. The influence of anti-human CATSPER1 antibody upon human sperm motility was used to evaluate the function of human CATSPER1 and to estimate its possible use as a target for immunocontraception. METHODS Human ejaculated sperm from nor...
